DEDICATED TO THE MEMORY OF MR. MIYAGI
Hello everybody, I'm Johnny Cash...really folks I'm the Man in Black. Not to be confused with the man in the black mask...aka...the Dreaded Pirate Roberts from The Princess Bride.
I've been on a book craze lately. I've just finished FEAR AND LOATHING IN LAS VEGAS as well as THE RUM DIARY, both works from the late Hunter S. Thompson. The latter of which will soon be a movie staring Johnny Depp. I also just got THE CURSE OF LONO in the mail. Its basically Fear and Loathing, but only in Hawaii.
I'm currently reading the Da Vinci Code, along with the rest of the world. Other books on the to-read list include: Cash (by Johnny Cash), The Great Gatsby, The Catcher and The Rye, A Clockwork Orange, Jarhead, and No One Here Gets Out Alive. So basically I have enough reading material for the next 6 months. I mean, what else am I going to do?....Study? SHHHYEAH, and monkey's might fly out of my butt!
Fredtown is pretty uneventful, and class is mildly entertaining, so I've been wasting my time between reading, going to the odd movie and playing either Project Gotham Racing 2 or Star Wars Battlefront 2. Movies viewed since move: Transporter 2, History of Violence (which I would have suspected to have LESS violence), Stay, Zathura, Jarhead, and Walk The Line.
I've made a few trips home lately, once for Halloween. I partied it up @ 30 Second Records as Micheal Jackson circa Thriller, jacket and all!....dancing shoes to boot. Noteable costumes included Shining Time Station train, Michealangelo, a whoopie cushion, and Blake as a Cuntry Bear("isn't there a 'o' in country?...nope!").
The most recent trip home consisted of Murph, Nick, and I getting trashed on a wednesday and subsequently looking for crime to fight on Bayfield St. Thursday was Amber's going away party at the Farmer and The Fisherman. Highlights from the party include potatoe wedges, nachoes, deep-fried pepperoni, and playing "YOU DON'T KNOW JACK" hammered. Friday night I chilled with the fam, and on Saturday I headed into Sarahs for some drunk foosball a la themed hats. A bunch of us made the trek to Hunters for some BIG CITY action....SHAA-MON!
The past week was the first time I didn't have a bajillion assignments or tests to write, so of course I went on a 4 day bender. I am still within Withdrawls evil grip.
Its suddenly christmas, my first clue wasn't the snow we recieved, but the airing of HOME ALONE on TBS. I'm pretty sure I could watch that movie 10 times in a row and not be tired. Another movie that was on the boob tube that brightened my day was THE GOONIES. One of several of my favourite movies from my childhood. The only catch was that it was on the french channel. So i just spoke the dialogue out loud and ended up improving my french. Who needs french class when you have the goonies?
Anyway, thats about as creative as I'm going to be. So, I'm out like Kevin McCallistor.

To my adoring fans:
Lynz: nice to know you're still alive. Haven't talked to you in decades. I also caught the Goonies on TBS in the am. It was sweet! I think your due for an update as well!
Amber: If i suddenly become rich I'll head on up to OTTER-wa.Or if I am being chased by the police, mark me down for a surprise visit so I can lay low for a while. Don't worry, i'm sure you'll be famous and rich soon. You just gotta keep trying, don't give up. Miss ya.
Danny Sugarmen... I don't know I like his one Doors book (The Illustrated History- mostly just for the pictures) I've been trying to read Wonderland Ave A Tale Of Excess And Glamour. I got through a good portion of the first part, mostly the stuff about Jim but I can't help but think how much of it is real and how much he might have fabricated, I hope the majority is real because it really gives you a different look into Morrison... Let me know how the other book is.
Clockwork Orange - on my bed table but I haven't broken past the first five pages.
Catcher in the Rye- perfect for the type of person you seem to be, apparently Salinger wrote it trying to imitate Huck Finn I think that's bullshit though.
I just finished The Awakening by Kate Chopin, very famous, very old fashioned, and very early feminist.
You should check out Nine Stories by Salinger they are excellent.
Good luck!
