Constantly talking isn't necessarily communicating.
Hey, I went to see Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind last night at City Cinema. Wicked fucking movie. Quite possibly my most favourite to date. Jim Carrey is awesome in it, as is Kate Winslet. Funny but, not made to be a comedy. It falls within the lonely realistic films which kick ass, like Lost In Translation and Punch-Drunk Love. Its kind of like Total Recall with a love story...but with less mutants.
Its easy to follow and in itself like a dream. Its really down to earth so it seems like you are watching a play...but with wicked special effects. See this movie before it leaves (Tuesday June 8)
I was in town last night to drive my dad and a few of his coworkers to some dinner they were having. Nothing is better than driving around a bunch of sex deprived 40 year old males that are shittered to say the least. Here's an exerpt from the drive home.
Honky Tonk Woman by the Rolling Stones is playing in the back ground....
[two guys in middle of van talking about some hot girl at the bar who is 20 years younger than them]
guy in back loudly interrupts with a misplaced comment: HEY JOSH! DID YOU KNOW THAT I SAW THE STONES MAN?
me: oh, yeah wow.(just to humor) where?
guy in back: IN TORONTO MAN. IT WAS AWESOME. THEY HAD THESE BIG HOOKERS MAN...LIKE BLOW-UP DOLL HOOKERS, THAT MUST HAVE BEEN SIX STORIES TALL DANCING AROUND WHEN THEY PLAYED THIS SONG. FUCKING GENIOUS.
me: ahhh....
uncomfortable silence
my dad: That would be like the biggest blowjob ever!
Holy fuck. I never want to get old. Shoot me when I'm 27. That way I can go out with the likes of Jimi Hendrix, Kurt Cobain, Jim Morrison, and Janis Joplin. It just seems to be the age to die. Its better to burn out, than to fade away
So my 10k run in the Red Cross Relay went well. I did it in like 48:32 mins. I placed 73-75(three of us had the same time) out of 185 I think. I'm pretty pleased considering the people ahead of me were mainly solo or two man teams, that travel around the country attending such relays, or people that were in much better shape than me.
I should have gotten paid yesterday, but I didn't cause the royal bank is fucked. But I think it may be in today. I need the cash to buy my shoreline tickets, as well as the tickets for the festival of lights. Anyway, I'm at work so I should jet.
COMMENT FUCKERS
...we're David and Ruth Laskin. Which one do you want to be? I'd like to be Ruth, but I can be flexible.

taht was an amzing movie. i saw myself in clem. and my ex in joel. it was freaky deeky. i cried, i laughed, i want to buy it. who was your team with the relay? and middle aged drunks are hilaruos. ps i';m rather still drunk!
a few things:
a) best movie ever.
b) I'm jealous of your running. I broke myself (twice) so the 10k runs can't happen for me anymore. So, I've decided to live through your stories. Deal?

I know, its hands down my favourite movie ever. Its even better than Goonies...well maybe not that good, but still wicked. Yeah, I think the movie is so good cause everyone can relate. Joel is like me 100%, and Clem would be an ex of mine. Oh, and janelle, I was in the relay with a few people from work. We placed 114 overall (out of the 182) but 10 out of 20 for our division so not bad. And Gabrielle, feel free to use any of my life stories as your own when writing your book. Just remember to include me in the acknowledgements. And I get to sign the books with you at the bookstores...but no indigo. Its all about the LIVE. and April Wine. Hootie is just nostalgia.
Deal. You'll definitely be in the acknowledgements--or that whole section dedicated to outlining what I lied about. If I'm going to be signing books, it's going to be in a deserted alley somewhere, and people will have to follow obscure clues in order to find it. And they'll have to be drunk.
April Wine is totally sweet, but I'll be there purely for the Hootie.
Obviously I wrote that post up there.
